Posted June 26, 2018 06:30:50 The Fels are making their fleet-wide purchase of marine engines a major priority.
Fords boss John Urquhart confirmed the move on Thursday when he said the Fords were buying the engine for their next fleet.
Urquhart said the decision was made to continue to make the Fels engines a priority for the future.
“We’re going to do our absolute best to deliver on that commitment,” Urquarth said.
The decision to purchase marine engines comes after Fords chief executive Ian Morrison said the company was investing in the engine industry.
Morrison said he believed the engine would be an attractive asset for the F1 team, given the company’s desire to build its own engines.
On Thursday, the Feds bought the engines from a company in France.
After spending more than $40 million on the engine, the team will move them to the team’s new engine factory at Winton, near Stirling.
A deal for the engines is expected to be signed in the coming weeks.
