Recode, the podcast network founded by Kara Swisher, is home to some of the most important people in technology, and we asked some of them about their job at work and the challenges they face in building and maintaining relationships with their students.
“If you’re an engineering major, you’re working with people that are probably not really your peers,” said Kara Swish, a professor of marine engineering at Stanford.
“And so you have a lot of these little opportunities that are kind of, in your mind, not that big.
But you don’t know if they’re going to be worth your time.
So that’s something that I think the Marine Engineering and Aerospace Engineering program at Stanford really does provide for.”
The Marine Engineering program is the most prestigious engineering degree in the country, and it was founded in the 1960s as a graduate program in marine engineering that was designed to teach students the art of building a floating, underwater vehicle.
The program today boasts more than 6,000 graduate students and is recognized by the National Academy of Engineering as one of the top engineering programs in the nation.
The program’s graduates have gone on to work in a variety of industries, including the Navy, the Defense Department, and the military, as well as the aerospace industry.
The program was founded by two engineers, Tom and Donna MWM, who were married in 1960 and had three children.
Tom MWM has been an engineering teacher since 1968.
He is the son of former Stanford engineering professor Donna Mwm.
He started teaching engineering classes at the school in the 1970s, when Tom was a freshman.
Tom says the experience of teaching marine engineering classes has helped him to better understand the complex relationships that are required between students and their professors.
Tom says students come to him with an idea that they have a problem with, and he helps them with that problem.
He says that he often helps students find out about their own mentors in the program.
“[The professors] are very understanding, very thoughtful and very, very involved with the students,” he said.
“They’re always helping to build relationships, which are essential in a program like this.”
“One of the things I really love about this program is that it’s so open,” Tom said.
I think that the faculty really really cares about what they’re teaching.
And so I think that students have a great time in class.
And they’re able to really do things that they never would have been able to do otherwise.
And I think they feel really comfortable doing that, and I think it’s really fun.
Marine engineering professor and professor of the Marine Sciences, Tom MWMTom says he learned about his profession from his father, who was a professor at the Stanford School of Engineering.
Tom’s mother, Donna, was an engineer in her own right.
Tom’s grandfather, Tom’s great-grandfather, was also a marine scientist.
Tom and his sister, Amy, are both marine engineers.
Tom said that his father taught him about the engineering of the ocean.
And he says that his mother and her grandfather helped him develop a career in the field.
“I think they’re really involved in the students’ education,” Tom Mwm said.
I’ve learned a lot from them, and my students have learned a little bit more as well, he added.
In the early days, Tom said he was concerned about the students learning the “real science” of marine design.
He said that he had to convince them that it was worthwhile to pursue a career as a marine engineering professor.
Tom recalls one of his first projects as a Marine Engineering professor.
A couple of years ago, he was sitting in a conference room with several students, discussing the research they had done.
“One student was a marine biologist, and she was trying to tell me about how she had built this little boat that was able to float,” Tom recalled.
And she was telling me that this boat would be a great way for people to make more money in the sea.
“The students were skeptical, Tom recalled, but then one student pointed out that the students had built a boat.”
And she said, ‘And you can make money doing that?’
I said, yes, and then she was like, ‘How can you make money?
And you’re making money in an industry where you can’t make money?’
“Tom said he quickly realized that it would be very useful for students to understand how to build boats in the ocean, and that they could make a lot more money doing it.”
Because you have to build these boats,” he added, “you have to think about it in a way that is sustainable, and you have this really important part of the engineering that is not necessarily a lot in the business.
And that was really important to me.”Tom said
