A manhunt has been launched for a submarine engine that was stolen from a West Coast marine engineering facility.
The engine, which was found at the Marine Engine Corporation, in the Brisbane suburb of North Shore, was believed to be missing for at least six months.
It was found on March 26, with the engine missing after being installed.
The man who found the engine is an engineer with the West Coast Marine Engineering Corp, according to a statement from the Maritime Corporation of Queensland.
The Maritime Corporation said it was working closely with the Queensland Police to investigate the disappearance.
It is believed the engine may have been stolen on January 28.
The vessel was believed stolen by a man in the West of Queensland, the statement said.
